Banff Engagement Photos : Snowy Lake Louise

Last spring I went to British Columbia and Banff on a solo trip to do some engagement shoots that I needed to get done in Vancouver and on Vancouver Island. I first landed in Calgary and then got the bus to Banff where I rented a car for a few days. Occasionally when I’m travelling and I see a couple in a picturesque spot I’ll offer to do a couple of photos for them so they have some nice ones from their trip. I met these two at the last waterfall on the Johnson Canyon Trail and it turned out that they were on their honeymoon! The next thing I know we are at Lake Louise and they are changing out of their hiking clothes in the parking lot so we can do this quick little shoot. We then shared lunch together at the square. One of the things I love about traveling is having random encounters and experiences like this. It’s always interesting to talk to new people from other parts of the world and I find that those who travel a lot have the best stories and I do absolutely love swapping stories!

Side story : After this, I also drove up to Jasper where I saw many bears and slept in the car (no caribou, sigh), but I did see a lynx back in Banff!!! My lovely friend Dani, who is a phenomenal landscape photographer in Banff, agreed to drive me allllll the way to Penticton for gas money and then I got a ride share to Vancouver from there two days later. It was a very adventurous trip!

Dani runs landscape photo workshops that you can check out HERE at Banff Photo Workshops!
