Amanda + McKinley : Prince Edward County Wedding Photography
This wedding was definitely one of my favourites from last summer! When we first met over drinks in Toronto to discuss their wedding and their story I immediately knew that these were my people! Not only are Amanda and McKinley amazing and creative, and not only was their wedding in a beautiful area, but every detail and location that they chose was so perfect. From the waterfront ceremony at Lake on the Mountain Resort, to the AMAZING Airbnb that they got ready in (dream house), to the open and airy Crystal Palace where their reception was held, everything was cohesive and THEM.
A good photographer can take great photos anywhere, but well chosen locations and leaving time for sunset photos will always give us plenty more to work with! This wedding was a great example of this. If you make it to end end of this long post you can see some great sunset shots! Trust me, it’s all worth looking at.
Some highlights from this day include my favourite radio DJ, Odario Williams from Afterdark on CBC radio 2, spinning the tunes, their adorable whippet, Dusty, and when I was informed that McKinley had written Amanda a song and that we were going to play it for her and capture her reaction. I was expecting some beautiful acoustic guitar and meaningful lyrics but no…it was a hilarious rap song and we all died laughing.
I asked Amanda to list her vendors for me and she graciously sent me an enormous list so I am posting it at the end, but she also added the following so I thought I would include it here :
"We also have to add that pulling this day off would NOT have been possible without the beautiful friends in our wedding party and all of their partners who shocked and amazed us with their dedication and hard work, as well as our parents and several other extended family members and friends who pitched in. We are SO fortunate!!”
